Influential speakers to focus on the quality of patient care at PM Society Annual Lecture 2011
The PM Society is delighted to announce that its prestigious Annual Lecture for 2011 will be taking place on the evening of Tuesday May 17th at Le Meridien, Piccadilly. This popular event will this year see a joint presentation by highly regarded and influential industry speakers Sir John Oldham, The Department of Health's National Clinical Lead for Quality and Productivity, and Leslie Galloway, Chairman of EMIG, the Ethical Medicines Industry Group.
This year's joint lecture will focus on the topic of maintaining a high quality of patient care in light of the radical changes to the NHS signalled by the 2011 Health and Social Care Bill and the introduction of GP commissioning consortia.
Sir John Oldham will be particularly focussing on GP commissioning and the potential to improve the management of patients with long term conditions, while Leslie Galloway will highlight how improving quality of care offers an industry incentive to deliver the best medicines (value- based pricing) and so ensuring that those medicines ultimately reach the patient (market access).
The Lecture will commence with an informal drinks reception and an opportunity for networking at 7.15 pm, followed by a three-course dinner at 7.45 pm. The lecture will start at 9 pm, followed by a chance for attendees to ask questions or challenge some of the key points raised.
The ticket price includes a welcome drink and three course dinner with wine, £140 + VAT for members or £180 + VAT for non-members. A 10% discount is available for those booking a table of ten. For further details and booking information please visit the Annual Lecture event page or contact Vivien Bennett on 01403 264898 or vivien@pmsociety@org.uk.
