PM Society Sailing Regatta
Over two hundred people from across the industry joined in this year’s regatta, now in its third year, held at the Hamble near Southampton.
Around one hundred people came down the night before to enjoy a BBQ and jazz band at the Royal Air Force Yacht Club. Most of the people stayed aboard the yachts with many people carrying the party spirit well into the early hours – anyone experiencing severe sleep deprivation should contact Napp!
Competition on the day was fierce with twenty-five yachts racing in the Solent for the PM Society Cup. Winds in the morning were very light but picked up nicely to a force four in time for the afternoon’s race which was held in glorious sunshine.
Two classes of yachts competed this year with nine First 40.7s and sixteen Bavaria 36s.
This year’s overall winners were Alchemy who secured a commanding lead from the outset and held the lead throughout the two-hour race aboard their First 40.7 yacht. Ark Therapeutics took the honours for the Bavaria class.
The PM Society would like to thank Cegedim for kindly sponsoring the BBQ and Wiley Pharmafile for sponsoring the event overall and supplying prizes.
Anyone interested in taking part in next year’s regatta should contact Paul Holmes at Wiley Pharmafile - pholmes@wiley.co.uk.
