Rachel Farrow, Strategic Director at emotive & PM Society Director
Rachel is a Director of the PM Society and a previous Chair. She also runs the PM Society Digital Awards which is in its 10th year. Rachel has over 20 years’ experience in the healthcare and communications industries. She has managed several agencies, was Global Vice President of Medical Communications at Quintiles (now IQVIA) for 5 years and is currently Strategic Director at emotive, a healthcare communications agency. Her expertise spans communications, business management, digital media, patient programmes and medical education.
Lynne Hughes, Vice President & Head of Medical Strategy CNS Project Leadership, IQVIA
Lynne has worked in clinical research for more than 32 years and has lived and worked during this time period in both the US and in Europe. She has been with IQVIA for 22 years and is currently Vice President and Global Head of CNS Medical Strategy. Lynne has worked exclusively in neurology while at IQVIA and has managed global development programs both from the operational perspective as a program director and also from the design perspective – working with many clients on their clinical development plan for their product. She has provided consultancy advice in Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, acute care, epilepsy and pain, and has been involved in a number of investment opportunities within IQVIA. In particular, she sits on a number of advisory boards, with particular interest in neurocognitive assessment and design of appropriate studies to assess neurocognitive dysfunction.
She is a member of a number of steering and / or executive committees for clients and has responsibility for several consultancy programs for investment opportunities within all areas of neurology. Lynne represents IQVIA on the G7 World Dementia Council and on the EPAD consortium for AD and is a member of the NIA-NIH task force for recruitment into AD trials. Her current role is in developing evidence-based strategies for the most efficient conduct of clinical trials / programs for our clients and she provides consolidated scientific, therapeutic and operational input and support for clients drug development, from a clinical trial development plan to a stand-alone trial. She has been involved, to varying extents, in the development of every neurology product on the market today. She is PMP certified and has been since 2000 and this certification is up to date.
James Holah, Director, JRH Pharma Services
James has over 20 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical sector. An experienced senior leader working in organisations such as AstraZeneca, Janssen, Astellas and Shire Pharmaceuticals. James has experience across the lifecycle of pharmaceutical products, from pre and post launch to managing the late lifecycle and preparing for generic entrants. Latterly James has established his own company to provide sales and marketing support to the pharmaceutical sector.
Lindsay Burbidge, Owner and Director of Impetus Pharma Ltd (Panel)
Lindsay entered the pharmaceutical industry in 1998 after completing a BSc(Hons) in Biology at the University of Southampton. Lindsay started her career in pharmaceuticals as a Sales Representative with Lundbeck covering the Hampshire territory and due to her sales success was quickly promoted Regional Business Manager in 2000. In 2004, Lindsay joined Shire Pharmaceuticals as Hospital Sales Manager for the North of the country. In her 13 years at Shire, Lindsay worked in various leadership roles - National Sales Manager, Marketer, Associate Director of Market Access and Sales and Marketing Director. These diverse roles allowed Lindsay to develop a wide skill set and particularly expertise in launching products and working in the rare disease arena. In her time at Shire, Lindsay won industry awards - PharmaTimes RBM Team of the Year and PharmaTimes Marketing Team of the Year and also company awards - Ambassador winner, RSM of the Year winner, Region of the Year and Global Best In Class award winner. What Lindsay is more proud of though, is the success of her teams with team members winning industry awards such as Pf Hospital Representative of the Year, PharmaTimes Aspiring RBM of the year and PharmaTimes KAM of the year as well as numerous internal Shire awards.
Lindsay left Shire in 2017 and is now Owner and Director of Impetus Pharma Ltd, a specialist company providing contract support in sales, marketing and market access to the pharmaceutical industry. This has led to exciting and interesting new challenges, working with Allergan in the field of Medical Aesthetics and currently with Thornton and Ross on the launch of a generic oncology product. Lindsay is passionate about making a difference for both patients, by getting them access to the best products possible, and to staff working in pharmaceutical companies, by providing great leadership and development opportunities.
Reena Rajdev, Senior Marketing Manager, Takeda (Panel)
Reena is currently a Senior Marketing Manager in Oncology at Takeda UK. Reena has worked for Takeda for the last 3 years, successfully launching & leading a key oncology brand within the UK, which involves clear collaboration internally: locally, regionally, globally and well as externally, this was recognised within the industry, with the award of PMEA Product Launch Excellence in 2018. Reena has over 15 years’ experience within the pharmaceutical industry, which consist of most recently in marketing with several product launches, market access and sales experiences.
James Harper, Founder & Managing Director, twentyeightb
James is a seasoned pharma veteran with a passion for healthcare and digital technology. He graduated with a 2:1 in Pure and Applied Ecology from Sheffield University and over the last 26 years has held a wide range of in-house and agency roles across the industry and in 2010 he founded his own digital agency, twentyeightb. James and his team of developers and consultants at twentyeightb work with pharma and medical device brand teams and their agencies to unlock the potential of digital for their brands by helping them understand and effectively leverage technologies such as CRM/CLM solutions, mobile applications, AR/VR and games development platforms.
Wayne Page, Senior Vice President, Strategy and Accounts, precisioneffect
Wayne has over 25 years’ experience within the pharma industry, with a career that covers over a decade spent in both client and agency environments. Winner of the Pharma Times Senior Marketer of the Year in 2000, Wayne consulted in the emerging field of Market Access prior to establishing Big Pink as one of the first digital agencies specialising in healthcare multichannel marketing. As CEO of Big Pink, Wayne led the agency for 15 years, launching satellite offices in Australia before successfully shaping its sale to the Precision Medicine Group in 2017. Wayne specialises in multichannel & marketing strategy and wrangling his two young children.
Chloe Partikas, Social Media Director, Ogilvy Health
Chloe studied a Bachelor of Arts (Media and Communication) at Deakin University in Australia, majoring in Public Relations and Journalism. She is the joint social media lead for Ogilvy Health UK, working across all accounts in the agency with social media elements since May 2017, and leading social media for the WPP Health international agencies own channels.
Chloe gets most excited about making beautifully crafted creative work that drives business results and her priority is ensuring Ogilvy Health is delivering best in class and insights based social media strategy and content. Moving to the UK from Australia in mid 2015, Chloe joined the Ogilvy Group via Ogilvy & Mather Advertising, working on Pizza Hut Delivery and Coca-Cola. Chloe cut her teeth in the marketing world at Australian technology and start up specialty agency The PR Group, where she worked across B2C and B2B clients doing social media strategy, community management and running the press office for Silicon Valley tech companies and local startups.
Emma Curley, Account Executive, Ogilvy Health
Emma graduated from the University of Southampton with a first-class degree in Psychology in 2017. Having studied ‘Intergroup Relations and Interpersonal Influence’ and ‘The Psychology of Advertising’ during her degree, she has taken a keen interest in communications. With just over a year’s experience in healthcare communications, Emma has already had the opportunity to work on a range of projects at a global level. She has worked predominantly in oncology, but has gained experience in antiretroviral, tropical disease and central nervous system disease areas also. Her previous work has included the implementation of content and social media strategies, both branded and above brand disease awareness campaigns, expert workshops, patient activation programmes, product communication and data announcements and congress support.

Most of his professional life was spent in Sales, Marketing and Communications in Pharmaceuticals and the Healthcare Industry so he has a keen interest in building powerful brands either online or offline. Rob Mackichan, Senior Account Manager, emotive
A BSc Biology graduate from the University of Leeds, Rob Mackichan began his career in healthcare communications in 2013 during a three-month internship at Atlantis Healthcare, working on accounts dedicated to patient support programmes. Despite following this with a year of travel, he soon re-joined the industry in September 2014 as a Junior Account Executive at Publicis Resolute. During this time, Rob focused on traditional medical education and public relations as part of the Publicis Health group, and worked his way up to Account Executive and later, Senior Account Executive, prior to a move to emotive in July 2017.
Joining as an Account Manager, Rob has since progressed to his current position of Senior Account Manager at emotive, acting as day-to-day lead on UK and International branding and medical education accounts. A keen sportsman, Rob continues to pursue his interests outside of the workplace, and recently graduating from a part-time MSc in Bio-business from Birkbeck University.
Daniel Laghaney, Global Talent Acquisition Manager, OPEN Health
Daniel has been working in the recruitment industry for 5 years – 3 of which have been in healthcare communications. Prior to this, he worked in the NHS covering Prospect park, Wexham Park and Broadmoor Hospital as a behavioural specialist, focusing on non-communicative autism and high levels of aggression. As part of his current role, he specialises in medical communications, market access, real-world evidence and informatics. Dr Ann Gilliat, Medical Writer, emotive (Panel)
Dr Ann Gilliat is a Medical Writer at emotive, a global healthcare communications agency which works with a large number of clients in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. At emotive, she is responsible for the production of a large variety of media and content, which includes development of medical education events, symposia, websites and animations. She has helped to organise events in Paris, Copenhagen, Nice and Lisbon. She is part of a medical writing team which ensures the accuracy and compliance of material for both medical professionals and the general public.
Ann has a PhD in Genetics, which she obtained from the Institute of Healthy Ageing at University College London. There she focused on understanding the pathology and mechanisms of ageing using the model organism C. elegans, working with Professor David Gems. During her time there, she also helped to teach and mentor students at both UCL and New York University, as well being a representative on the Student and Staff Council for post-graduate students. She has authored numerous publications, including a key study in Nature Communications, which she presented her at a major international congress in Madison, Wisconsin. Earlier, Ann graduated from UCL with a BSc in Biochemistry before working at the Neurosurgery department at St George’s, University of London.
