Digital patient communications programme - patient adherence / compliance

Sponsored by Pharmafield

HSP is a free thinking publishing organisation, specialising in the health sector. Its flagship product - Pf magazine – focuses on the intriguing pharmaceutical landscape and politically-charged universe of NHS reform; delivering an intoxicating cocktail of investigative journalism, satire, lifestyle items and industry wisdom. In recent times it has carried exclusive interviews with several notable luminaries, including Jeremy Hunt and Ben Goldacre. The magazine’s unapologetic stance on the injection of humour and intelligent content has made it a popular alternative to the usual fare. HSP’s other titles include Access NHS, PiP (Partnership in Practice) Magazine and Employer of Choice.

The OneHeart programme has been developed by AstraZeneca in collaboration with the NHS to help patients achieve better heart health. Half of patients discontinue oral antiplatelet (OAP) treatment within 12 months of discharge from hospital - almost doubling their chance of dying or having a non-fatal heart attack, therefore the programme aims to improve adherence to treatments in accordance with current guidelines and also to improve patients' understanding of their condition and treatment. Since its launch, the OneHeart website has exceeded expectations and targets and has been described by some cardiologists as the best patient support service they have seen.
